The Terrain - Safari Landia

Terrain & Geography

Chiridzi Concession, Tete - Mozambique

We are extremely pleased to announce our hunting portfolio in Mozambique, a 1 million acre hunting reserve in the heart of big game country, in the north western part of the country. Lying in the foothills of the Luangwa and Zambezi valleys, this area consists of Miombo forests interspersed with Mopani woodland and open grasslands which support a healthy family of big game species. These include the big boys – Lion, Elephant, Leopard and Buffalo as well as Roan, Sable, Kudu, Eland, Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, common Waterbuck, Chobe Bushbuck, Impala, Reedbuck, common and red Duiker, Bush Pig, Warthog, Hippo, Crocodile and Hyena. Hunters must be willing to walk as terrain is tough and no easy hunting – this is proper hunting.

No expense on charter planes as Tete International Airport is only 3 hours’ drive to camp, with daily flights from Johannesburg's OR Thambo airport.

Best Times to Hunt

The best time to go to Mozambique, for safaris and excursions, is from mid-May to August, because it's the coolest, driest and sunniest. Recall, however, that at high altitudes, above 2,000 metres it's cold and at night there may be slight frosts. This also co-insides well with most hunting seasons for the lion and elephant that you may be wanting to hunt.

Depending on what you are seeking to hunt and the time of the year this is best for that game, it is prudent that you are in the know of what temperatures to expect as these range from 16oC to 42oC.
